Hi my lovely travel family! My winter travel season has almost come to an end as Spring is just around the corner! From my stays in Germany for the first time, to Christmas markets around the UK I have to say this winter season has been one for the books. The one stay that has truly stood out in my mind for winter 2017 has to be gorgeous city of Bruges in the incredible country of Belgium. I was so happy to have had the opportunity to visit all over this glorious country and end up stay a few days in the historical city of Bruges. My stay would have not been completed without the wonderful and friendly welcome at the Heritage Hotel- Relais & Chateaux! From the moment you step inside you know why this hotel was voted Best Luxury Boutique Hotel of the year.
After a friendly chat with the front desk I headed up to my room where I was welcomed by beautiful classical music, delicious fresh fruit and a room that was decorated for a queen! Floor to ceiling windows allowed gorgeous light to flow into the room and give it a natural glow. The room comes with lovely amenities including a large flat screen TV, iPad, and even my favorite a Nespresso coffee machine! You know I was well caffeinated for my entire trip as I had 2-3 cups a day during my stay! The Bathroom was lined with gorgeous white marble containing his and her sinks for the couples who don’t like to share and incredible bathing area with a waterfall shower head. The interior decor of the room was top of the line chic and super high tech up to date lighting system that I could control with a touch of a finger at my bedside.
I am a huge foodie so I always love staying at places that are obsessed with the importance of delicious dining. The Heritage Hotel hosts one of the most amazing restaurants in all of Bruges, Le Mystique. With it’s super stylish attractive interior, it is a perfect setting to experience the “art de vivre” ! I was invited for an incredible five course menu with matching wines & could not be more impressed. From the incredible Grilled Brill to the delectable Escargot these dishes were mouth watering! The Chef creates his menu based on finest regional ingredients fused with the best of Belgian cuisine with World Flavors. Fine cuisine and culinary creations in a stylish atmosphere is what you can expect in Restaurant Le Mystique and I was extremely satisfied. The Heritage also starts off their guests mornings with an amazing breakfast spread that contains anything your hungry heart desires! I really enjoyed their signature poached egg and homemade warm waffles with fresh pineapple, mmmmm its making me miss it just talking about my food experience there!
The Location of your stay in a new city is always key and the Heritage Hotel is without a doubt located in one of the best areas of Bruges. With its most central location in town at only 50m from the Main square, you are in walking distance to most of this historical city’s attractions. I loved how helpful the staff was when it came to seeing the city they are so proud to call home! They helped me with transportation, mapped out walking routes, and even sent me a list of favorite spots before my trip so I could do research on where I would like to visit before I arrive in Bruges! Brilliant!
I really enjoyed my time at the Heritage and felt that this hotel not only attracted me with its luxury and sense of home but enticed all my senses! From the delicious tastes on offer, perfect interior design and exterior architecture for the entertainment of sight, to the gorgeous intoxicating floral scents from the lobby I could have stayed here forever! Thank you for completing my winter getaway Heritage Hotel! “BEAU!… MOOI!”
